To sign up for email notifications of new content you need to register for an account and then once you are logged in you will see a link to "subscribe post" under each content item, click on this to recieve updates on the item by email. You can manage these subscriptions by going to your account page and choosing "my subscriptions". Here you will be able to subscribe to particular "categories" of content and remove subscriptions to posts and categories you no longer want to recieve emails for.
